Our current classes cover Soccer, Basketball and Kickball.
Each class is adapted to the specific participants and is split into three components:-
We begin with stretching and a warm up. During this time participants are given the opportunity to be the leader of an exercise as an opportunity for self-expression and to build confidence. We pay particular attention to balance and mobility. (10-15 minutes).
The class then turns to a variety of adaptive team and individual games from a specific sports activity with the goal of encouraging team bonding, inclusion, and socialization. (15-20 minutes)
The class will finish with a free-flowing adaptive game in the specific sport. During this segment we also teach the participants an understanding and sensitivity to the varying skill levels of their teammates and “opponents” allowing everyone to engage and enjoy the experience. (20-30 minutes).
